A new kidney stone removal treatment centre has been opened at the Mirigama Base Hospital to help reduce Sri Lanka’s surgical waiting list of more than 5,000 patients.

The centre was inaugurated yesterday (12) by Health Minister Nalinda Jayatissa.

The Health Ministry said the facility will enable specialist urologists from across the country to carry out advanced kidney stone removal procedures using modern medical technology.
