The Archdiocese of Colombo has rejected social media claims that Malcolm Ranjith had prior knowledge of the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks.

In a statement, Church spokesperson Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando said the allegations are false and had already been denied in 2020.

The Church also rejected claims that security agencies had shared prior intelligence with the Cardinal and urged the public not to share unverified information circulating on social media.
