Former Mayor of Colombo Rosy Senanayake is reportedly still using the official residence of the mayor in Colombo 7 although the terms of all Local Government bodies including the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) have come to an end.

The main Opposition Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) last week alleged that Senanayake was occupying the Mayor’s Residence although she was technically not holding the relevant post.

The SJB further stated that a fashion show had also been held at the Mayor’s Residence in Colombo on Wednesday (29 March).
