Former Colombo Municipal Councillor Mahinda Kahandagama has been placed under a detention order until October 12 for further questioning following his arrest on drug trafficking allegations.

Kahandagama and another individual were arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) on suspicion of involvement in drug trafficking, police said.
