The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) yesterday (1) reported that over 70,000 electricity breakdowns had been reported from across the country amidst the prevailing weather conditions.
Issuing a statement, the CEB said that 70,012 breakdowns had been reported within a 69-hour period as of 5 p.m. yesterday. Out of these cases, the CEB had restored 41,684 cases, while additional teams had been deployed to rectify the remaining breakdowns. According to the CEB, these teams will work around the clock until repairs are completed.
