Showers will occur at times in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts today (29), according to the Department of Meteorology.

Several spells of showers are expected in the North-Western Province, while thundershowers may occur in parts of Uva, Ampara, Batticaloa and Hambantota after 2.00 p.m.

Strong winds of around 40–50 kmph may occur in several areas. The public has been advised to take precautions against strong winds and lightning.
