The Department of Meteorology has forecast continued rain across Sri Lanka, with wet weather expected in the south-western parts of the country until 27 October.
Low-pressure conditions and the Intertropical Convergence Zone are contributing to the rainfall, with some areas recording over 100 mm. Rain is also expected across the island tomorrow (23).
Although a developing low-pressure system near the Andaman Islands is not expected to directly affect Sri Lanka, deep-sea fishermen, particularly multi-day fishing vessel operators in the Bay of Bengal, have been urged to monitor weather advisories.
