Mainly fair weather will prevail over the most parts of the island, the Department of Meteorology said. 

Showers or thundershowers are likely at a few places in the Southern Province and in Rathnapura and Monaragala districts after 2.00 p.m. 

Misty conditions can be expected at several places in the island during the early hours of the morning, it added.
