The Department of Meteorology forecasts a few showers today (29) in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Northern, and North-Western provinces. 

Strong winds of 50–60 kmph are expected at times across several regions, including Trincomalee and Batticaloa. 

The public is advised to take precautions against wind-related damage.
