Fairly heavy showers exceeding 75mm are expected in several parts of Sri Lanka today (3), according to the Department of Meteorology.

Showers or thundershowers are expected after 1.00 p.m. in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western, Uva, North Western, Southern and North Central provinces, and Mannar District.

The public has been advised to take precautions against temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Misty conditions are also expected in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during the early morning.
