A group of 22 youths were arrested by Kaduwela Police for staging a reckless motorcycle stunt show near a private university along Chandrika Kumaratunga Mawatha in Malabe.

Police said the raid was carried out following information that the stunt display was obstructing traffic and causing inconvenience to road users.

Investigations revealed that the event had been organized through the messaging platform WhatsApp.

Several motorcycles used in the stunt show were seized, including two unregistered vehicles. The suspects, who are residents from outside the Kaduwela area, were later released on police bail.

They have been instructed to appear before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court on May 5.
