Several spells of showers are expected today(28) across the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and North-western provinces. 

The Northern province and Anuradhapura district may also experience a few showers.

Strong winds, reaching about 50-60 kilometres per hour (kmph), are anticipated at times over the western slopes of the central hills and in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, Northern, North-central, and Northwestern provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee and Batticaloa districts. 

The public is advised to take precautions to minimise potential wind damage.
