The Department of Meteorology has issued a warm weather advisory for Ampara, Batticaloa, Polonnaruwa, and Monaragala, warning that the heat index may reach ‘Caution Level’ today (13) and tomorrow.

Authorities caution that prolonged sun exposure and outdoor activities could lead to fatigue and heat cramps.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid strenuous activities during peak heat hours.
