The Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (28) issued an arrest warrant for Sri Lankan cricketer Chamika Karunaratne after he failed to appear for a child maintenance hearing.

The court ordered authorities to arrest and produce Karunaratne before the magistrate.

Karunaratne is currently in Japan representing Sri Lanka at the 2026 Asian Games.

He denies allegations regarding the paternity of the child involved in the case.

The Colombo Magistrate's Court scheduled the case to be taken up again on 4 January.
