Former Minister Premalal Jayasekara has been arrested by the Nuwara Eliya Police.

Police stated he was taken into custody over allegations of criminal intimidation and threatening individuals with a firearm during a clash between two groups.

It is also reported that the firearm used had an expired licence at the time of the incident.
