The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal by Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya, in her capacity as Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Professional Education, to sign several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at enhancing global cooperation and improving Sri Lankan universities’ international rankings.

The MoUs will be signed between, University of Peradeniya and the Institute of Geology and Geophysics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (China), University of Kelaniya and Bharathidasan University (India) and University of Moratuwa and both the Institute of Multidisciplinary Sciences, Yokohama National University, and the National Institute of Technology, Tokuyama College (Japan).

Each agreement will remain valid for five years, fostering academic partnerships, research collaboration, and educational exchange.
