The General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) organization, Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera has been sentenced to 9 months in prison and fined Rs. 1,500 by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court for insulting Islam. 

The sentencing follows an earlier arrest warrant for his failure to appear in court.
