Cyclonic Storm “Ditwah,” located about 80 km northeast of Jaffna, is moving north-northwest and expected to trigger widespread heavy rainfall and strong winds across the island.

Northern, North-central, Central, and North-western provinces may receive over 100 mm of rain, while Western, Sabaragamuwa, Galle, and Matara could see falls above 50 mm.

Winds of 50–60 kmph, with gusts up to 70–80 kmph, are likely.

The public is urged to secure loose items, avoid flood-prone areas, and remain indoors during severe weather.
