In line with the implementation of the Cabinet of Ministers-approved Information and Cyber Security Strategy, the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (Sri Lanka CERT) is taking necessary steps to build a skillful cybersecurity workforce for the public sector to protect digital assets from ever growing cyberattacks.
Sri Lanka CERT has identified Government organisations that maintain critical national information infrastructure and is currently taking measures to enhance their cybersecurity readiness.
Sri Lanka CERT has initiated a programme to cultivate a skilled workforce in the Government. In this context, necessary steps are being taken to develop a Cyber Security Skills Framework for the Government to lay a foundation to enhance the capacity of Government officers on cybersecurity.
To achieve this, under the guidance of the United States Embassy in Sri Lanka, the Mitre Corporation has provided technical and advisory services to develop the skills framework for the Government. Further, in the coming months, a series of training programmes will be provided for Government staff on various aspects of cybersecurity.
