Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath has invited Indian investors and filmmakers to explore Sri Lanka as a leading destination for film production, events and hospitality ventures.
Speaking at the India–Sri Lanka Tourism Connect programme in Colombo yesterday (19), organised by the Indian High Commission, the Minister emphasized Sri Lanka’s focus on sustainability, diversification, improved connectivity and digital transformation within the tourism sector.
He highlighted key areas aimed at increasing Indian arrivals, including city breaks, beaches, heritage routes, MICE tourism, destination weddings, film tourism and cricket tourism.
Reaffirming Sri Lanka’s commitment to strengthening bilateral tourism ties, Minister Herath said both countries have significant potential to unlock new opportunities and deepen cooperation in the years ahead.
