SLPP General Secretary Attorney-at-Law Sagara Kariyawasam, who was arrested by the Central Criminal Investigation Bureau (CCIB) today (10), is being taken to the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.

Kariyawasam was arrested after arriving at the CCIB to provide a statement over remarks allegedly made concerning the Inspector General of Police.

Police stated that he is accused of making death threats against the IGP and making statements intended to bring the President into public disrepute.
