Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretary Tilvin Silva met with Cuba’s newly appointed Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Patricia Pego Guerra, at the party’s head office in Pelawatte. 

The discussion centered on deepening the longstanding friendship between Sri Lanka and Cuba, as well as boosting ties between the Cuban Communist Party and the JVP.

Ambassador Pego Guerra expressed Cuba’s interest in exploring cooperation in vital sectors such as health, education, sports, and disaster management in Sri Lanka.

The two sides also discussed expanding cultural exchanges to further strengthen their relationship.

The JVP extended its best wishes to the Cuban Ambassador for a successful diplomatic mission in Sri Lanka, highlighting the importance of sustained bilateral cooperation.
