Dr. George I.H. Cooke commenced work at the Regional Centre for Strategic Studies (RCSS) as its Executive Director (ED) this month (1 August). 

He is a diplomatic historian and author, a lecturer in international relations at several seats of higher education in Sri Lanka and overseas, and a former diplomat of the Sri Lanka Foreign Service with a decade of service, including in Paris, France, and the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation. 

He is currently a Non-Resident Fellow of the Ubon Ratchathani University in Thailand, and also serves on the Policy and Advocacy Committee of the International Chambers of Commerce of Sri Lanka. He is also the founder of the Awarelogue Initiative.
