The New Zealand Under-85kg team secured a commanding 50-10 win over the Sri Lanka Tuskers in a high-octane rugby clash at the Nittawela Stadium in Kandy.
Despite an early fightback led by Sri Lanka skipper Nigel Ratwatte, the visitors found their rhythm and pulled ahead with a series of tries before halftime.
Sri Lanka's only try came from Dahan Wickramarachchi, with Ratwatte adding the conversion and a second-half penalty.
The New Zealanders maintained their momentum in the second half, scoring 4 more tries to close out the game.
The teams will face off again in the tour finale at Racecourse Grounds, Colombo, on 10 May, with the Sir Graham Henry Trophy on the line.
