Kurunegala District has been severely impacted by landslides in three separate locations, resulting in nine confirmed deaths and twenty-four people reported missing.

District Secretary Chandana Dissanayake stated that at Idulgoda Mountain, five bodies were recovered after twelve people went missing.

Fatal incidents also occurred in Ibbagamuwa and Aragamankanda, where eight people are missing after residences were submerged.

Additionally, a landslide in the Omaragolla area has left thirteen people missing, with the bodies of four individuals recovered. 

Rescue operations are continuing across the district.
