President Anura Kumara Dissanayake met with an International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation today(7), reaffirming the IMF's role as a vital partner in Sri Lanka’s recovery.

The President said the government's reform agenda aims for long-term stability and stressed the need to exceed IMF targets to sustain growth through Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs). 

The IMF commended Sri Lanka's reform progress, noting the economic growth, strengthening reserves, and improving fiscal revenues. The sixth tranche of IMF assistance is due in December.
