An audit report has found that 150 national schools and seven National Colleges of Education suffered damage estimated at over Rs. 2.27 billion following Cyclone Ditwah.

The Ministry of Education’s Engineering Division estimated the total damage at Rs. 2,274,230,000. The audit report noted that the losses had not been recognised or disclosed in the relevant financial statements.

The report also found that of 41 construction projects allocated Rs. 8.43 billion in 2025, 10 had not been implemented and 16 had recorded less than 50% physical progress.
