Fourteen-year-old Melbourne-based Dineth Fernando has won the 2026 World Youth Scrabble Championship in Nairobi, representing Australia.

Fernando, who moved from Sri Lanka to Australia earlier this year, defeated 140 competitors to claim the title.

He had previously won the Australian Youth Scrabble Championship in July.
