A new Immigration and Emigration Office will open in Jaffna on 1 September. 

According to Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala, the new office will make it easier for residents of the Northern Province to access passport services. 

This is part of a wider government plan to enhance regional accessibility, following the successful opening of similar offices in Vavuniya, Matara, and Kurunegala.
