Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Buddhism, Religious and Cultural affairs, National Integration, Social Security and Mass Media Vijitha Herath to appoint H.S.K.J.Bandara as the Director General (DG) of the Department of Government Information. 

This appointment follows the resignation of the former DG of Government Information, Dinith Chinthaka Karunarathne.
