India and Pakistan to supply cows to boost Sri Lanka's dairy production

Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Amaraweera announced agreements with India and Pakistan to supply cows to Sri Lanka, enhancing milk production. 


Accordingly, India will provide Sahiwal cows, while Pakistan will contribute buffaloes. 


These breeds are expected to suit Sri Lanka's climate and improve milk yield, addressing the country's dairy shortages. 


The Government prioritises the dairy industry, aiming for significant advancements next year.
