Turkish Airlines has announced an increase in flight frequency between Istanbul and Colombo, adding two more services per week to better support stranded tourists and enhance access to Sri Lanka.
The decision follows positive diplomatic discussions between Sri Lanka and Türkiye, which were well received by both nations.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) responded promptly, granting the necessary approvals to facilitate the expanded schedule.
This new schedule will be operational from 5 April to 21 October, 2026, providing improved connectivity for travelers both entering and leaving Sri Lanka.
The move is expected to help ease travel difficulties caused by ongoing disruptions, strengthen Sri Lanka’s position within international aviation networks, and support the continued growth of the country's tourism industry.
