Sri Lanka reported 68 filariasis cases in 2025, according to the Anti Filariasis Campaign.
Director Dr. Prasanga Serasinghe said 34 cases were local patients, while 34 were foreign workers from India.
Cases were reported mainly from Hambantota, Galle, Matara, Kalutara, Gampaha, Colombo and Kurunegala districts.
Health authorities aim to eliminate filariasis by 2030 and reduce locally detected cases to zero.
