Train services on the Badulla–Ambewela section of the Upcountry Railway Line resumed this morning (20) after 23 days, following repairs to damage caused by Cyclone Ditwah.

A special Udarata Menike train departed Badulla at 8.00 a.m. to mark the reopening. The Railway Department said multiple services will operate on the route from today.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Tourism Samantha Vidyaratne.
