The 2026 General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (G.C.E. O/L) Examination is scheduled to conclude today (26) 2026.

Based on previous years' incidents, Sri Lanka Police have observed a tendency for some students to become involved in violent or disorderly conduct following the examination. 

To address this, the police will implement special security and preventive measures on and after 26 February 2026 to ensure the safety of students, the public, and public property.

Parents and guardians are kindly urged to monitor their children’s activities and conduct during this period and to take necessary steps to discourage any behavior that could lead to violence or disturbances.

The cooperation of parents, educational authorities, and the public is crucial in maintaining peace, discipline, and public order. The Police Media Division requests the media to disseminate this information widely in the interest of public safety.
