CPC Chairman assures smooth fuel supply in Sri Lanka

The Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), D.A. Rajakaruna, today (3) reassured the public that fuel distribution across Sri Lanka continues smoothly without any disruptions.

He stated that over 800,000 liters of diesel and more than 900,000 liters of petrol had already been distributed nationwide by this morning.

Rajakaruna explained that recent queues were due to public behavior rather than shortages, and the situation is easing.

Despite higher-than-normal distribution figures over the holiday weekend, he confirmed that queues are no longer visible in Colombo. The CPC will keep supplying fuel throughout the day to meet ongoing demand.

He also assured that regional tensions and disruptions would not impact Sri Lanka’s fuel supplies.

Shipments from India and South Korea are scheduled, and crude oil supplies remain secure, with preparations made for any potential Strait of Hormuz closure.

He urged the public to remain calm, emphasizing that fuel availability will be maintained.
