Underworld figure Ranjith Kumara, alias “Konda Ranji”, who was deported to Sri Lanka from Dubai, was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport this morning (9), police stated.

Konda Ranji arrived in Sri Lanka at around 7.50 a.m. and was taken into custody by CID officers shortly after landing.

Police stated that he is wanted in connection with several criminal investigations and is alleged to be linked to organised criminal activities.

The CID is conducting further investigations, and he is expected to be produced before court following preliminary investigations.
