At least five people are confirmed dead and seventeen others are missing following separate landslides in the Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces.

In Minipe, Hasalaka, five fatalities were confirmed and twelve people are reported missing after an earth slip in the Pamunupura area. 

Search operations are underway in the area.

Separately, a landslide in the Dedugala area of Bulathkohupitiya, Kegalle, affected five homes. 

The Kegalle District Secretary confirmed that the residents of those five homes are currently missing, and rescue access is severely hampered.
