A tsunami preparedness exercise will be conducted tomorrow(05) across five selected locations in Sri Lanka, coinciding with World Tsunami Awareness Day.

The exercise, guided by UNESCO guidelines, will involve Grama Niladhari divisions in the Batticaloa, Jaffna, Galle, and Kalutara districts. 

The main national drill starts at eight thirty a.m. in Kalutara.

The Disaster Management Centre has requested the public not to panic or misinterpret the drill as an actual tsunami threat.
