S.M. Naleem, representing the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC), was sworn in today (03) as a National List Member of Parliament before Speaker Asoka Ranwala.

In the last General Election, the SLMC secured 87,038 votes, winning two seats. Consequently, the party decided to appoint Naleem to the allocated National List MP position.

Previously, he served as the Chairman of the Eravur Urban Council.
