Gold prices in Sri Lanka increased today(29) following a rise in global gold rates.

Colombo Pettah traders noted that the price of a 24-carat gold sovereign rose by Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 420,000.

A 22-carat gold sovereign is priced at Rs. 386,400.

The global gold price per ounce crossed USD 5,500 earlier today.
