A 54-year-old woman known as “Kompannavidiya Kudu Nona”, also known as “Nona Amma”, has been arrested by Kiribathgoda Police with 50 grammes of heroin and Rs. 48,000 in cash.

Police stated that the suspect was arrested while allegedly transporting the drugs to a drug trafficker in Chettikulam.

The suspect, who has faced drug-related charges previously, is being detained and questioned under the Poisons, Opium and Dangerous Drugs Ordinance.

Police are also investigating money, property and other assets she is suspected of acquiring through drug trafficking.
