The Sri Lanka Air Force has successfully conducted the first test flight of its upgraded Kfir C12 fighter aircraft at Katunayake, marking a key milestone in its fleet modernisation programme.
The aircraft, known as the “Lion Cub”, returned to flight operations following extensive ground testing and system integration work carried out with support from Israel Aerospace Industries.
The upgrade programme covers four Kfir fighter aircraft and one trainer aircraft, with enhancements aimed at extending operational life and improving air defence, navigation, communication and combat capabilities.
