A total of 32 Officers-in-Charge (OICs) have been transferred and appointed to new positions with the approval of the National Police Commission.
The transfers have been approved by the Police Inspector General Priyantha Weerasooriya and are to be implemented with immediate effect, according to the Police Headquarters (HQ).
Among the officers, 26 are Chief Inspectors of Police (CIs) and six are Inspectors of Police (IPs). A total of nine CIs and one IP have been reassigned to general duties.
These officers have been relieved of their OIC roles and assigned to other duties as part of the reshuffle, said the Police HQ.
