Sri Lanka's total export earnings exceeded USD 7.3 billion during the first five months of 2026, marking a 7.56% year-on-year increase, according to provisional export data.

Between January and May 2026, merchandise exports generated USD 5.76 billion, while service exports contributed USD 1.63 billion. In May alone, merchandise and service exports grew by 18.25% and 18.67%, respectively, compared to the same month last year.
