The railway trade union strike over several demands, including the removal of the Railway General Manager, has entered its second day.
The Sri Lanka Railway Station Masters’ Association stated that the strike will continue until midnight today (18).
Meanwhile, the Department of Railways stated that measures have been taken to operate services as normal, including office trains, parcel trains, the Kankesanthurai Intercity, Yal Devi and Mannar-Colombo trains.
The Kankesanthurai-Colombo night mail train has also commenced its journey.
