Sri Lanka is set to host the 9th Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Media Summit on Climate Action & Disaster Prevention (CADP-2025) from 25–27 November 2025 in Colombo. Hosted by the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC), it will be the largest international media event in the country this year.

The summit will welcome more than 200 delegates from over 35 countries, including high-level representatives from major broadcasters. 

The theme is "Building Resilience Through Media: For a Cleaner, Greener & Safer Tomorrow", highlighting the media’s proactive role in safeguarding communities. 

Key features include the launch of a Disaster Preparedness and Response Plan (DPRP) Model for media, supported by UNESCO.
