The Colombo High Court has ordered that the money laundering case against Yoshitha Rajapaksa and Daisy Forrest be taken up on 3 November for a pre-trial conference.

Yoshitha Rajapaksa appeared in court today (28), while Forrest was absent due to medical reasons. The court was informed that her presence will be essential at the next hearing.

The Attorney General’s Department informed court that the prosecution intends to amend the indictment during the pre-trial conference.

The case alleges that Yoshitha Rajapaksa and Daisy Forrest deposited nearly Rs. 57 million, allegedly acquired through illegal means, into three bank accounts, in violation of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
