New Zealand Rugby has announced that its Under 85kg national team will return to Sri Lanka in April 2026 for a two-match international tour.
The side will face the Sri Lanka Tuskers in Colombo on 25 April and in Kandy on 3 May, as part of efforts to strengthen rugby ties between the two nations.
Interim Chief Executive Steve Lancaster stated that the previous tour had a lasting impact beyond the field, noting that Sri Lanka is a proud rugby nation that provides a strong challenge.
Head Coach Ben Sinnamon also noted that the tour presents a demanding test for the squad, highlighting the competitive environment and conditions.
The 2026 series is expected to further boost rugby’s development in Sri Lanka, following strong community engagement during the 2025 tour.
