Heavy rainfall is expected across Sri Lanka as an atmospheric disturbance is set to develop into a low-pressure system by tomorrow(25).

The Department of Meteorology predicts prevailing showery conditions will continue for several days. 

Cloudy skies are anticipated across most areas. 

Northern, North-central, and Eastern provinces will experience showers or thundershowers at times, with heavy falls exceeding 100 millimetres possible in the Northern and Eastern provinces. 

Other areas may see showers after one p.m., with up to 75 millimetres of rainfall. 

The public should take precautions against strong winds and lightning.
